It has long been recognized by investigators that sexual violence and violation has characteristics unlike other offenses. Understanding these characteristics and using appropriate interview techniques makes the investigation more effective and reduces the additional trauma for the survivors.

This training will begin with a review of the dynamics of sexual violence and the basics of trauma, including the neurobiology of trauma. The majority of the training will focus on specific interview procedures and questions. Participants will gain both knowledge and skills to augment their work as Title IX investigators.
