Academic Collaborations
Share |

GICA members have multiple ways to collaborate within academic services.  Below are details regarding the various collaborations with the state and each other.

College Consortium Horizontal Logo

The GICA College Consortium Collaborative Agreement helps colleges improve revenue, retention and completion through collaboration. The College Consortium Academic Sharing Platform (ASP) allows schools to share online courses to help students make progress, schools to meet institutional goals and assists with transparency and reporting for regulatory bodies. Through the College Consortium, a school can select from a list of online courses that are treated as consortial (vs. transfer) which benefits the student, saves time and generates revenue.

For more information about this agreement or to join it, please contact Lisa Macke, Vice President for Member Services.

Technical College System of Georgia Horizontal Logo

Twenty-two GICA members participate in a sector-wide articulation agreement with the Technical College System of Georgia.  This agreement articulates 80 courses taught at a TCSG institution and whether those courses will transfer to a GICA member institution.

For more information about this agreement or to join it, please contact Susanna Baxter, President.

 Tree with roots

The National Student Clearinghouse’s free Reverse Transfer service is the first national automated solution that enables course and grade data to be transferred from a four-year institution to any two-year institution in order to award associate degrees to eligible students. The solution facilitates the exchanging of unlimited course/grade data across public, private and state lines. Thirteen GICA members participate in this program.

For more information about this agreement or to join it, please contact Susanna Baxter, President.

GA-TRACS Horizontal Blue Logo

Nine GICA members pay to participate in the state's transfer portal system known as "GA-TRACS".    Participating institutions have their transfer information in the portal so that potential transfer students can see how the courses they have taken may transfer to a participating public or private institution.

For more information about this program please contact Susanna Baxter, President.
